Queenter Achuro

Queenter Achuro: One of 5 children of a widowed mother who struggled to support her children on her income as a subsistence farmer. Zest for Life supported Queenter in her final year at Miriu Mixed Secondary; this support enabled her to attend regularly, study hard, gain her KCSE Certificate and secure a place at Kisii university making her the first female student from Miriu to qualify for University. Having achieved a BA in Education and teaching practice Queenter is now teaching in a middle school. By supporting hard working young women like Queenter, who is a fantastic role model for other young women at Miriu, we can make a difference not just for the individual but for families who would otherwise be trapped within a poverty cycl
