Phenny Awuor
Phenny Awuor comes from a family of eight, and is the first of her family to continue in education past secondary level. Phenny was motivated by seeing a fellow pupil Tracy Achieng being offered the first secondary school bursary from Zest for Life. While in class 7 and by now a prefect, she started appearing in the top 3 and set herself a target of 350 marks by the end of the year – her final mark was 352. In 2013, now head girl and a spiritual leader, she worked even harder and at KCPE she scored 368 marks. In Mathematics she achieved the second best score nationally. At Ng'iya Girls' National School, she continued to shine and scored A- in her final exams – one of only 901 girls nationally to do so. Phenny was called to the University of Nairobi to study Law (LLB). Graduating in 2023 she went on to the Advocates Training Program. In 2025, Phenny was accepted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
