Martin Ogondi
One of the first students to be taken on to the student sponsorship scheme when it began in 2005, Martin Ogondi has been an orphan since the age of 7. A very bright young man, Martin did not have relatives to look after him when the last of his family died and was passed around several schools before settling at Miriu Mixed Secondary. Following his success at KCSE, Martin was offered a place at Maseno University to study IT and Maths. Supported by a Zest for Life Bursary, Martin completed his degree becoming our first graduate in 2015. Martin went on to complete a teaching qualification and now has a permanent post at a high school in Butere. Martin is now married with a family of his own, and works with Zest for Life to monitor community projects and liaise with Innis Primary.
