Training for women
35 women from 2 Widow's and Orphans Community Groups Receive Enterprise Training
In June and August 2018, Zest for Life funded two 2-day training courses for members of two women's co-operatives.
Having first consulted with the groups about what type of training would result in most benefit, we delivered courses in Catering and Poultry Keeping.
Thirty five women attended both courses and achieved a certificate to demonstrate capability in both topics. The women received a travel allowance to make sure that they could all participate.
The Catering training included nutrition, food hygiene and food preparation for large numbers. Since the training, the Jefna group have secured their first catering contract.
The Poultry Keeping training took place at two locations - the first session being 'classroom' based and the second a visit to a poultry unit.
This type of training benefits groups projects and offers individuals the opportunity to learn a skill and improve their family income.
