Teacher Training Bursaries
Our secondary education sponsorship programme has helped to improve attendance and achievement at Miriu Mixed Secondary especially for the female students. This has resulted in more of them achieving the Grade C at KCSE that enables them to go on to further or higher education. Yet some of these hard working young ladies lack the means to fulfill their ambition to become a teacher. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we have been able to offer Teacher Training College Bursaries to five young women. All five now have a chance to realise their dream of becoming a teacher, have a bright future and are great role models.
Millicent studied at St Marks College and graduated in 2015 and has a young daughter, she has been teaching at a private school in Nairobi.
Nancy completed her course Asumbi TTC in 2016 and is now teaching at King Solomon Junior School, Homa Bay.
Nancy plans to continue her professional development by studying for a Diploma in Early Years and dreams of starting her won school.
Dorothy and Daisy have just completed their courses at Asumbi TTC
Treazer, our latest recruit, will complete her training at Asumbi TTC in 2019.
